Interesting topic. So I was thinking about the argument that Tebow "represents" his team, team-mates, NFL... etc for reason to put his religion on mute when he suits up. I can't imagine an employer or fellow employees of any company feeling feeling threatened or offended of an individual wearing a cross or a jewish yamaka to work or keeping a Buddha in their cubicle. As long as it doesn't interfere with the job, I don't see the big deal. I lived in the South for several years. A good majority are of the Christian faith. Many of the Southern Christian culture live and breathe their religion whole-heartedly. They offer aloud prayers in public restaurants, listen to Christian music while they are working, often talk of how good and gracious their God is very publicly. I love their passion and commitment. I never felt offended by this in any situation. What is the big deal? An individuals religion in many regards is a custom, a tradition, habits.. something that helps you in your life. Aren't we all the same, in many ways? Trying to achieve happiness and greatness? Religion and religious practices is what helps many people in their journey to achieve that. In his actions, Tebow is not saying to others that his religion is "superior" or the most "correct" or that everyone should embrace Christianity to be a good person. His actions and words reflect what he needs personally from Christianity to help him achieve his personal greatness. I think his zest and passion are deeply inspiring.

Does it really matter whether or not a hypocrite is religious or not? Is there a difference between hypocrites in politics or the media or religion? Aren't we all hypocrites to the extent that none of us lives up to our noblest ideals all the time? Maybe, we could all do a little less judging of others and their hypocrisies and tend more to pursuing our own best ideals, whatever they are.

Anytime one group of people try to control another group of people, religious, political or otherwise, danger is just around the corner. Religion is the issue at hand here but political dogma has played the same hand. The issue is control.

So its the Alabama-Auburn game and Auburn is on the 2 yard line with 2 seconds on the clock down 21 to 14. Pat Dye talks to God and asks him what to do. He hears the voice of God tell him to run Bo Jackson right up the middle. He does and Bama stops Jackson on the 1 yard line. The game is over and Auburn loses. Pat Dye is devastated and asks God how this could happen. God turns to his friend sitting by his side and says :I dunno Bear (Bryant). Why did we tell him to go up the middle? So I guess my advice to Tebow is that he better figure out who he is listening to!!

I've always felt that the reason why so many religions/faiths exist is because everyone is different and needs something different to help them on this journey we call life. I respect whole heartedly any and all expressions of beliefs or faith. I personally am more private in my faith, but others find so much more comfort in more outward expression. I'm so grateful that we live in a country where we can do that! I do not understand the narrow mindedness and being offended towards others expression of faith. I personally have my own beliefs, but I love to learn and hear about all faith and beliefs.. it inspires me and I often learn a lot. Tebow seems like a genuinely kind and good person. I wish we as a society would celebrate goodness in others and look past the specific beliefs that help them to reach that. We should never be ashamed of hiding who we are.. or put others down for just being who they are.. Quoting Lady Gaga.. "Baby I was born this way!"
